First Camping Trip of 2013

This winter has been so mild that we decided to start camping already!  We checked out Garner State Park a couple weekends ago.  This park is one of the most popular parks to visit in warmer months, but it was pretty empty when we went- just the way we like it.  We enjoyed the hiking trails, the biking trail, and of course the Frio River.

We also made a quick stop at Lost Maples State Natural Area before heading home.  We hope to do some backpacking there in the future.  What a great way to start 2013!
