I just wanted to update everyone on Josh's progress. He is in the final weeks of his 12 years of college! His dissertation is coming together and has to be completely finished and turned in to the school in about 3 1/2 weeks. Please continue to pray for him and encourage him during this time. He will graduate on May 9th and then begin teaching the summer botany course at WSU in June. We are all so proud of Josh and can't wait to call him Dr. Brokaw (although I plan on calling him Dr. Josh).
We have to be out of our house in WA on July 31st (Josh's last day of class), but we do not have a job for the fall yet. If a job does not come along, we will be moving to NM to live with Mom. I plan to be back in WA for the summer to pack up the house and spend time with Josh. We trust that God has a plan for us and hope he reveals it soon. Please pray for patience and peace during this process.

Promises kept
Today is a very special day. 39 years ago, my parents were joined in marriage. Obviously I wasn't there, but I know some very special things were said... "for better for worse, in sickness and health, for richer or poorer... 'til death do us part." It is such a blessing to have parents that kept the promises they made to each other so many years ago. I can't begin to imagine how different my life would be without the love and commitment my parents demonstrated. I know that Josh and I will follow their lead, and I pray that our marriage can be a wonderful example to our families as well.
It has been over 3 months since Dad passed away, but sometimes it feels much longer. My days are definitely up and down, but God gets me through each one. I still shed tears for my Dad nearly every day, and I still dream about him nearly every night. I know that so many of you are still praying for us. I thank you for your love and friendship and ask that you continue to pray as we continue to grieve.

Our weekend
Mom and I took an extra long weekend and went to visit some friends and family in TX. Our main goal was to meet one of my new nephews, but we ended up seeing lots of other people too. Here's a picture of little Benjamin from our first night there. I think he's pretty cute- maybe because he looks a lot like Josh!
